FAQ

HOW DO I BOOK A PLACE AT BOOTCAMP?

Booking is easy. Simply pick which Bootcamp you wish to attend by looking at our Dates & Prices page. Ensure that there are places left for the accomodation that you would like and if there are click on 'Book Now' to be taken to the booking form. Fill this out and press the 'Book Your Place' button to confirm your booking. You will then be redirected to PayPal in order to take your payment by credit or debit card before receiving confirmation that your booking was successful.

WHAT TIME DOES THE BOOTCAMP START?

We would like all bootcampers to arrive on site between 12 noon and 1 pm on the start day of bootcamp (usually a Friday). If this is going to cause a headache i'm sure we can get round it, just give us a quick call or email before booking.

WHEN DOES THE BOOTCAMP END?

If you are on a weekend bootcamp we will aim to be finished on the Sunday about 4pm. The week-long bookcamp will finish on the Friday morning around 10.30am.

WHERE EXACTLY IS THE BOOTCAMP HELD?

For security reasons we do not state the precise location of our bootcamps on the website. You will receive directions once you have booked a place.

HOW DO I GET TO THE BOOTCAMP?

For our UK Boot Camps you can travel by car. We will issue directions once your booking has been confirmed. We may also offer a pick up service from the nearest train station. We will provide you with the public transport options on confirmation of your booking. If you have any concerns about transportation please contact us prior to booking to discuss.

I'M NOT VERY FIT CAN I STILL ATTEND?

Of course. The exercise intensity will be tailored to your ability so no matter what your fitness level you can still actively participate at the bootcamp. If you currently have a pre-existing medical condition you should discuss this with your doctor before booking and you MUST inform us of your condition at the time of booking. We will then need written proof from a medical professional that is ok for you to attend.

CAN WE COME AS A GROUP OF FRIENDS?

Certainly. Just give us a call or drop us an email to discuss. Details of how to get in touch are on our Contact Page

APART FROM EXERCISE WHAT ELSE WILL WE BE DOING?

On your first day you will have your lifestyle markers measured. These include things like blood pressure and body fat percentage. These will be repeated towards the end of your week and you will have a consultation with the Lifestyle Coach to talk through your results. Throughout the week you will also attend healthy living workshops. We offer access to an on-site masseur so that you can ease away those aches and pains.

I'M SELF CONCIOUS OF MY BODY CAN YOU PUT ME AT EASE?

No matter what your size, big or small, our boot camps offer a non-judgemental and inclusive environment in which to exercise in. We will encourage you throughout the week and ensure you feel comfortable with every exercise we ask you to partake in.

CAN I SMOKE WHILST AT BOOTCAMP?

We recognise that smoking is an addiction and we will provide you with necessary tools to try and give up if that is your wish. We therefore strongly discourage smoking whilst at BootCamp.

CAN I DRINK ALCOHOL WHILST AT BOOTCAMP?

Nope. pretty much no sins are allowed!

IS THE BOOTCAMP ARMY THEMED/FETISH LINKED?

No. There will be no drill sergeant yelling in your face telling you to drop down and give him 20! And just for the record this is a NON-SEXUAL bootcamp with no fetish-related activity. (You can imagine the emails we get can't you!)

WHAT DOES A TYPICAL DAY AT BOOTCAMP INVOLVE?

Nutritious and energy-dense breakfast between 8-9 cooked by our in-house chef. This may be followed by a health lecture on cholesterol for 45 minutes before doing an hour's circuit training on the lawn within the accomodation's grounds. A quick healthy snack will be followed by an hour's core strength work encorporating some pilates and yoga before breaking for lunch. After another tasty meal courtesy of the chef we'll head off on a trek across the hilly Devon countryside taking in some spectacular views. Return back to the accomodation and an hours play time in the swimming pool and sauna. A three course dinner followed by a DVD will finish the day off.

I HAVE A MEDICAL CONDITION / INJURY WILL THIS BE A PROBLEM?

We ask you to disclose any medical condition that is likely to effect your participation at BootCamp when signing up so we can screen any issues beforehand. If you have high blood pressure (hypertension) we will need a note from your doctor to say that he or she is happy for you participate at BootCamp. Any medical disclosure to any GingerBeer BootCamp staff will be treated with the upmost sensitivity and discretion.

Similarly if you have an inury please tell us about it. Please tell the Personal Trainer of any chronic or historical injuries so that he can avoid giving you exercises that could niggle an exisiting injury.

WHAT WILL THE FOOD BE LIKE AND HOW OFTEN DO WE EAT?

Fear not, we won't starve you for a week to lose weight! However, your meals will be calorie counted and a nutritionist will have signed off on them to ensure that you are getting the goodness you need to fully participate in all activities. You'll be sitting down to three square meals a day with a couple of energy-boosting snacks mid-morning and mid-afternoon. Our private chef will ensure that the food tastes great too.

WHAT IF I DON'T WANT TO DO A CERTAIN ACTIVITY

We provide a mix of activities to keep you fully engaged which hopefully translate to 100% participatation. Medical reasons aside, we expect you to do all the activities asked of you (its what you are here for right?). Your results from BootCamp may be seriously compromised if you fail to follow the Personal Trainer's guidance.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THE WEATHER IS BAD?

If it's raining, we get wet! You will be hopefully too busy to notice what the weather is doing, if you feel that you're not getting wet enough though you can always jump in the pool!

CAN I BRING MY OWN FOOD?

You can bring it, just don't expect to be eating it. You are here to eat clean and train dirty! We want to make sure you get the best results possible from your BootCamp experience and a lot of that has to do with what you eat. Therefore you will only be permitted to eat the food that we provide. Sounds tough? Thats becuase we want you to see the best results possible. If you have a food allergy, please let us know and our chef will be more than happy to accomodate your needs.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I DON'T GET ALONG WITH MY ROOM MATE?

We will try to accomodate every need you have. That said, the BootCamp experience centres on the group as a whole and you will be spending very little time alone with your room mate. If we have done our job right as soon as you are in your room all you will want to do is sleep.

ARE THE STAFF/INSTRUCTORS FIT?
